Apple repair
MacBook Screen Repair in Gulfport, MS
MacBook displays fail in a handful of predictable ways: cracked panels from drops and closed-lid pressure, vertical lines from cable wear, and backlight failure that leaves a faint image visible under a flashlight.
This is Apple-certified work at our Gulfport shop. Our technicians are ACMT and ACiT certified, which is exactly the difference between a display assembly installed correctly and one that develops a hinge or cable problem later.
MacBook screens are also the repair where being honest about cost matters most. On some older models the display assembly is a significant share of what the machine is worth, and we'd rather you know that before we order the part.

Step 1 of 3
What causes this
- Drops, and pressure from closing the lid on a pen, cable, or earbuds.
- Display flex cable wear from thousands of open-and-close cycles on certain models.
- Backlight circuit failure, which leaves the image faintly visible but unlit.
- Hinge damage that puts strain on the panel and the cable behind it.
- Liquid entering through the keyboard and reaching the display connector.
Symptoms to look for
- Cracked or spidered panel, or ink-like spreading spots
- Vertical or horizontal lines that change when you move the lid
- Dark screen with a faint image visible under bright light
- Screen that cuts out at a specific lid angle
- Flickering, or backlight that only comes on sometimes

Display assembly replacement
The standard fix for cracked and damaged MacBook screens. We confirm the exact assembly for your model and year before ordering.
Backlight and cable diagnosis
Some 'dead screen' MacBooks don't need a new panel at all. We diagnose before recommending the expensive part.
Hinge-related display faults
Hinge and lid problems that damage the display cable, addressed together so the new panel doesn't fail the same way.
Honest replace-or-repair advice
If the display costs more than the machine is worth to you, we say it plainly and help you weigh the alternative.
Devices we see most
This isn't a complete list — it's what comes across the bench most often. If your model isn't here, ask. If we can't get the part, we'll tell you immediately.

What you can safely try
- Shine a flashlight at the screen at an angle — if you can see a faint desktop, it's a backlight issue, not a dead panel.
- Connect an external monitor to confirm the machine itself still runs.
- Open and close the lid slowly to see whether the fault tracks with the hinge angle.
- Back up with Time Machine before bringing the machine in.
- Note when the lines or flicker first appeared and what preceded them.
When to stop
- Stop closing the lid on a cracked panel — it spreads the damage every time.
- Don't press on the display to make lines go away.
- Don't attempt a home display swap. The assembly is fragile and the connectors are unforgiving.
- If liquid was involved, stop using the machine and bring it in.
Before you come in
- Back up with Time Machine or your cloud service of choice.
- Bring your login password so we can test the display after installation.
- Bring the charger.
- Know your model year if you can — it's in About This Mac.
How the visit goes
- Walk in Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 3 PM.
- We diagnose first. If the panel isn't the problem, you don't pay for a panel.
- Display assemblies are often ordered in; we'll give you the timeline before you commit.
- You'll get the cost and the honest replace-or-repair read before any work starts.
Gulfport macbook screen repair questions
Can you replace a cracked MacBook screen in Gulfport?
Yes. We confirm the exact display assembly for your model and year, quote it before ordering, and install it here at our Creosote Rd shop.
My MacBook screen is black but I hear it start up. Is the screen dead?
Not necessarily. Shine a flashlight at it — a faint visible image usually means a backlight fault rather than a broken panel, and that's a different repair.
How long does a MacBook screen repair take?
The install itself is same-day work in most cases. The timeline usually depends on getting the correct assembly for your model.
Is it worth replacing the screen on an older MacBook?
Sometimes not, and we'll say so. On older models the display can be a large share of the machine's value, and we'd rather you make that call with the real numbers.
Will my data be affected?
A display replacement doesn't touch your storage. Back up anyway.
Do you fix MacBook hinge problems too?
Yes, and we look at the hinge whenever a display fails, because a bad hinge will damage a new panel the same way it damaged the old one.
