Liquid damage

Water Damage Phone Repair in Gulfport, MS

Water damage is the repair where speed changes the outcome more than anything else. The damage isn't the water — it's the corrosion that starts the moment water and power share a circuit board, and it keeps spreading for days after the phone looks dry.

We live on the Gulf Coast, so we see a lot of this: pools, the beach, boats, sinks, and storms. Some phones come back completely. Some don't. What we can promise is a straight assessment instead of a hopeful one.

Liquid damage repairs never carry the lifetime warranty, and we tell you that before you leave the phone rather than after.

Step 1 of 3

What are we looking at?

What causes this

  • Salt water, which is far more corrosive and conductive than fresh water.
  • Pool water, where chlorine adds its own damage on top of the moisture.
  • Sinks, toilets, and drink spills, which often include sugars that make cleaning harder.
  • Rain and humidity working in through a cracked screen or a worn port seal.
  • Powering the phone on repeatedly after the event, which is what actually kills most water-damaged phones.

Symptoms to look for

  • Phone won't turn on, or turns on and immediately shuts off
  • Screen with water lines, dark spots, or discoloration
  • Speaker or microphone muffled after drying out
  • Charging port that no longer works, or charges intermittently
  • The phone gets hot when plugged in — stop and unplug it

Repair options

Pricing depends on your exact model and what we find once it's open. Call or text and we'll give you a straight answer before you drive over.

Emergency intake and power-down

The single most important step. Bring it in powered off and we take it from there.

Board inspection and cleaning

We open the phone, inspect the board under magnification, and clean corrosion where it's found.

Component replacement after cleaning

Batteries, ports, and screens frequently need replacing after liquid exposure even when the board survives.

Data-first recovery attempts

When the phone isn't saveable, the goal shifts to getting your photos and contacts off it. Tell us that's the priority and we'll work toward it.

Honest odds, up front

We tell you what we think the chances are before you spend money, including when we think they're poor.

What you can safely try

  • Power the phone off immediately and leave it off. Do not check whether it still works.
  • Unplug it. Charging a wet phone is how boards short out for good.
  • Dry the outside and shake water out of the ports gently.
  • Bring it to us the same day if you possibly can.
  • Tell us exactly what liquid it was and how long it was in.

When to stop

  • Do not put the phone in rice. It does nothing useful and it wastes the hours that matter.
  • Do not use a hair dryer or oven. Heat drives moisture deeper and damages seals and adhesives.
  • Do not keep turning it on to test it. Every boot spreads corrosion.
  • Do not charge it, wirelessly or by cable, until it's been inspected.

Before you come in

  • Bring it powered off, not in rice.
  • Tell us the liquid type — salt, pool, fresh, or sugary drink — and how long ago.
  • Bring your passcode and Apple ID or Google credentials in case we get it running.
  • Decide in advance whether saving the phone or saving the data matters more to you.

How the visit goes

  • Walk in Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 3 PM. Come as soon as it happens.
  • Liquid damage is a drop-off job. Cleaning, drying, and testing take time we can't compress.
  • We give you an honest read on the odds before you commit to anything.
  • Liquid damage repairs are not covered by the lifetime warranty, and we say so up front.

Gulfport water damage repair questions

Does rice work for a water-damaged phone?

No. Rice is a myth that costs people their phones, because the hours spent waiting on it are the hours corrosion is spreading. Power the phone off and bring it in.

My phone got wet and still works. Am I fine?

Not necessarily. Corrosion develops over days and weeks. A phone that survives the first night can fail a week later, and a cleaning now is far cheaper than a board failure later.

Is salt water worse than fresh water?

Considerably. Salt water is more conductive and far more corrosive, so a Gulf dunk is more urgent than a sink drop.

Can you get my photos off a phone that won't turn on?

Sometimes. It depends on whether the storage and board survived. Tell us data is the priority and we'll work toward that first.

What does water damage repair cost?

It depends entirely on what we find. We inspect and tell you the cost and the odds before doing the work.

Is a water damage repair warrantied?

No. Liquid damage repairs don't qualify for the lifetime warranty, and we're clear about that before you leave the phone.

Broken device? Let's take a look.

Call or text and we'll tell you what's likely wrong, whether we have the part, and how long it should take. No forms, no waiting on an emailed quote.
