Step 1 of 3
What causes this
- Everyday drops that crack glass or kill touch response.
- Aging batteries that can no longer hold a full day's charge.
- Charging ports clogged with pocket lint or worn from cable strain.
- Liquid and humidity exposure that corrodes contacts over weeks, not minutes.
Symptoms to look for
- Display cracked, dim, flickering, or dead in spots.
- Battery percentage drops in jumps or the phone shuts off early.
- Charging is intermittent or very slow.
- Camera, speaker, or microphone stopped working after a drop.
Repair options
Pricing depends on your exact model and what we find once it's open. Call or text and we'll give you a straight answer before you drive over.
Same-visit phone repair
When the part is on the shelf, common phone repairs take roughly 10 to 30 minutes and you leave with your device.
Certified technicians in-house
Apple ACMT and ACiT certified, CompTIA A+ certified for hardware and software. Nothing gets shipped off to a third party.
Phones, tablets, and computers
Screens, batteries, charging ports, water damage, MacBook screens, virus removal, and storage upgrades all handled here.
Data comes first
If a drive or device is failing, we stop and talk to you about protecting your data before anything else happens.
Phone repair is not a commodity
Two quotes for the same phone are often two different repairs. "Screen replacement" is a category, not a part — the display in one quote and the display in another can differ in technology, brightness, colour accuracy, touch feel, and how long they last.
So the useful question is not "who is cheapest?" It is: what am I actually getting for my money? Which part is going in, what does the warranty cover, how long will I be without the phone, and what access to my device does this repair require?
We name the screen tier before we install it — value aftermarket, premium aftermarket, OLED or soft OLED where applicable, or an original service part when the component genuinely is one. We never call an aftermarket part OEM. On eligible repairs, if you start with a lower-cost screen you can upgrade later and pay the difference, provided the installed screen is undamaged and the premium part is available for your model.
Where uBreakiFix is genuinely the better choice
A comparison where one shop wins every row is an advertisement. There are real situations where we would send you to them instead of us.
Their published material advertises a limited warranty valid at any of their 700-plus locations, free no-obligation diagnostics, and a low price guarantee that matches a qualifying local competitor's published price for the same repair and beats it by five dollars, subject to their stated conditions. Their material also identifies them as a Samsung Authorized Service Provider, an Independent Repair Provider for Apple, and an authorized service provider for Microsoft Surface and Xbox.
If you travel constantly, if you are moving away from the Coast, or if your device is still inside its manufacturer warranty, that national footprint and those authorizations are worth real money. We hold no manufacturer authorizations and our warranty is honoured at our shop in Gulfport. We are not going to pretend otherwise.
Speed: what each of us actually says
Their Gulfport material advertises most repairs done as soon as the same day, and their current Gulfport FAQ further states that most common repairs such as screen or battery replacements are completed the same day, often within an hour. Their national smartphone page separately advertises most repairs in 45 minutes or less, subject to the device problem and the store location. We publish all of that rather than only the version that flatters us.
Our own honest number: when the correct part is on our shelf, many common screens, batteries, and charging ports take roughly 10 to 30 minutes. When the part is not here, many qualifying parts can be priority-ordered overnight at no additional normal overnight shipping charge to you. Liquid damage and board-level work take longer, and we say so before you leave the device rather than after.
At either shop, the question that actually predicts your wait is the same one: is the part for my exact model in the building today?
Your phone, your data, your choice
A phone is not a car. It holds your messages, your photos, your banking, and your children's faces. What a shop asks for before it starts work is a fair thing to compare, and it is not a scandal — it is a policy difference.
Their Gulfport material asks customers to turn off the passcode and Find My for diagnostics, recommends backing up beforehand, and notes that some repairs may require resetting the device. That is a reasonable standard for a network of hundreds of stores. Read their policy and decide what you are comfortable with.
Our approach is lower friction. For most straightforward hardware repairs we do not routinely ask for your passcode. When access genuinely is needed to diagnose or verify, we explain what we need to test and why, and we ask for the minimum that gets it done. Whenever it is practical you unlock the phone yourself, you stay with us, and we verify the repair together. We do not wipe or reset a customer's device without authorization.
- No passcode routinely required for most straightforward hardware repairs.
- Customer-present verification whenever practical — you unlock, you stay, we test together.
- Many common repairs can be watched from the counter.
- No device is ever wiped or reset without your authorization.
- We check whether a shattered tempered-glass protector is the only casualty before quoting a display.

Open the Gulfport comparison chart16 questions to ask before handing over your phone
Ask these at any shop, including ours. A shop that answers them plainly is telling you what you're actually buying. Our answers are underneath each one.
Question 1
What exact replacement screen am I getting?
Our answer
We name the tier before we install it — value aftermarket, premium aftermarket, OLED or soft OLED where applicable, or an original/service-pack part when the component genuinely is one. We never call an aftermarket part OEM.
Question 2
Is it LCD, hard OLED, soft OLED, refurbished original, OEM/service-pack, or something else?
Our answer
We say which one, out loud, at the counter. If you want to know what the difference looks like in daily use, ask and we'll show you.
Question 3
What display technology originally came on my phone?
Our answer
We'll tell you. If your phone shipped with OLED and you plan to keep it a while, our general recommendation is comparable OLED when the budget allows.
Question 4
Is this your cheapest screen or the one you'd recommend?
Our answer
Those are two different questions and we answer both. We don't automatically sell every customer the most expensive option.
Question 5
What exactly does the warranty cover?
Our answer
Qualifying phone repairs carry our lifetime warranty: defects in the part we installed and the workmanship on the repair we performed.
Question 6
What voids it?
Our answer
New physical damage, liquid damage after the repair, work done by someone else afterwards, and normal wear. All of it is written out on our warranty page before you authorize anything.
Question 7
How long does the warranty last?
Our answer
Lifetime on qualifying phone repairs. When a repair does not qualify, we tell you that at drop-off rather than at claim time.
Question 8
Do you need my passcode?
Our answer
For most straightforward hardware repairs, no. We don't routinely ask for it.
Question 9
Why?
Our answer
When access genuinely is needed to diagnose or verify something, we explain exactly what we need to test and why — and we ask for the minimum that gets it done.
Question 10
Can I unlock and test the phone myself while I'm here?
Our answer
Yes, and that's our preference whenever it's practical. You unlock it, you stay, and we verify the repair together.
Question 11
Approximately how long will I actually be without my phone?
Our answer
When the correct part is in stock, many common phone repairs take roughly 10 to 30 minutes. If yours is one of the ones that takes longer, we say so before you leave it.
Question 12
Is my part physically in stock?
Our answer
Call or text your model before you drive over and we'll check the shelf, not the catalog.
Question 13
If not, when can you get it?
Our answer
Many unavailable parts can be priority-ordered overnight, with no additional normal overnight shipping charge to you — subject to supplier availability, order cutoff, and shipping conditions.
Question 14
If I dislike the cheaper screen, can I upgrade later?
Our answer
On eligible repairs, yes — you pay the applicable difference, as long as the installed screen is undamaged and the device and premium part are still eligible.
Question 15
Where is board-level work performed?
Our answer
Supported board-level and microsoldering work is done here, at our bench in Gulfport. Qualifying microsoldering usually runs about 1 to 3 business days.
Question 16
Is the amount I'm being quoted the expected final repair price?
Our answer
Yes. You get the expected price and timeframe before any tool touches the device, and we stop and call you if something else turns up inside.
What you can safely try
- Try a different cable and adapter before assuming the port failed.
- Update the device and restart it once — some faults are software, not hardware.
- Back everything up before any repair, anywhere.
When to stop
- Stop using a liquid-exposed device; the damage keeps spreading while it's powered on.
- Don't wiggle or force a cable into a loose port.
- Don't open the device yourself — batteries are the risk, not the screws.
Before you come in
- Have your passcode and account password ready so we can verify the repair.
- Remove the case and any wallet attachments.
- Describe the moment it happened — that's usually the fastest route to the right diagnosis.
How the visit goes
- No appointment needed. We're open Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 3 PM, and walk-ins are how most repairs start.
- Call or text first if you want us to confirm the part is on the shelf before you drive over.
- You get a straight answer on cost and timing before we start — not after.
- Qualifying repairs carry a lifetime warranty. We tell you up front when a repair doesn't qualify.
