What you can safely try
- Restart the phone, then boot into safe mode to rule out a misbehaving app.
- Check battery usage in Settings → Battery to see whether one app is draining it.
- Swap the cable and the charging brick before assuming the port failed.
- Look into the USB-C port with a light — visible lint explains a lot of 'broken' ports.
- Back up to your Google account or Samsung Cloud while the phone still runs.
When to stop
- Don't pick at the USB-C port with metal.
- Stop charging a Galaxy whose back cover is separating — that's a swollen battery, and it's a fire risk.
- Don't keep using a folding phone with a crease-line failure; the inner panel damage spreads.
- Don't try a heat gun and pry kit at home. Samsung's adhesive is unforgiving and the panel underneath is fragile.
